The whale, which is 25 handholding kindergarteners long was big enough for us to crawl inside and stand up. We took our flashlights in and read stories and facts about the humpback and blue whales. It was so much fun! We are still working hard and I am focusing more on comprehension and writing skills. At the end of the month, I will be administering the ISEL tests for the last time. I look forward to seeing the progress the students have made since August. <br /><br />We have been going to the computer lab every week now, and are working on our phonics skills. We have also been using a Reader Rabbit program that uses fun math games for reinforcement.<br /><br />Now that the weather appears to be warming up, we will be going to the playground once a week. We usually go on Friday’s, but if it looks like rain, I will take them out on another day.<br /><br />I will be ordering caterpillars this week, and we will be watching them make their cocoons and change into beautiful butterflies. In mid to the end of May we will be letting the butterflies fly off into our beautiful courtyard.<br /><br />Thank you to all of the parents who came to chaperone our Pilcher Park field trip. We ended up with a beautiful sunny day! It was a great trip and everything went very smoothly. Thanks again!<br /><br />On Thursday April 13th, we will be having an Egg Hunt outside (weather permitting) on the playground. Please send your child with a basket or bag in which to collect their eggs. <br /><br />Keep reading with your children, and completing our daily homework assignments. I check their homework every Monday, and my students receive a treat if it is returned and signed by you! Thank you for your cooperation!<br /><br />Have a great long weekend!
